Kerry Arabena is a descendant from the Merriam people in the Torres Strait.

 

Kerry has previously been the Executive Director of an Indigenous health service and other political agencies, including the Pintubi Homelands Health Service and the Apunipinna Cape York Health Council. She has also been a member of a range of local, state and national Councils and Committees. Having supervised the development and implementation of national strategies, she is a Fellow of the Sir Gustav Nossal Leadership in Health Reform.

 

Ms Arabena has chaired a number of Boards and Committees, including the International Advisory Committee for Sexual Health and Family Planning Australia, the National Indigenous Australians Sexual Health Committee and is currently the Chairperson of the ACT Health Promotion Board.
