Dr Anthea Jo Taylor has a background in education and anthropology and has taught in schools, TAFEs and Universities in metropolitan and remote Western Australia. She has spent time as a policy advisor with Premier and Cabinet and as a curriculum writer and Aboriginal education advisory teacher for the Western Australian Education Dept.
Her research interests and publications include aspects of Indigenous identities and literacies, community politics, neighbourhood risk and trust in childhood over time, and youth career decision-making and transition to vocational education, training and work.
Currently, on leave from Edith Cowan University, Anthea commenced a three-year Visiting Fellowship with AIATSIS in June 2005. She will be undertaking a longitudinal ethnographic study with Indigenous children, examining the reproduction and transmission of culture in early childhood education processes. More details about this study can be found on the projects page.
