Chrissy Grant is a Kuku Yalanji and Torres Strait Islander woman who lives in Tumut, New South Wales. She is a retired public servant and works as a consultant as well as holding positions on Ministerial Advisory Committees, other governmental panels and committees and non-government boards.  Chrissy has extensive experience in working with communities on cultural heritage and land management. She has worked at the national level for over 36 years and has built extensive networks within Indigenous communities from housing to heritage across the country.

Chrissy has been Chair since 2005 of the Australian Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) Research Ethics Committee which is aligned to the National Health and Medical Research Council.

Chrissy has been a member of the Indigenous Advisory Committee to the Commonwealth Environment Minister since 2007 and Deputy Chair since 2008. Chrissy has also chaired the IAC-Indigenous Protected Areas Sub-Committee since 2007. She is currently Australia's representative on the Steering Committee of the Indigenous and Communities Conserved Areas Consortium.

Chrissy is a member of Australian National Landscapes Reference Committee and the Australian Conservation Foundation and a member of UNESCO's Australian National Commission reporting to Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
