29 April 2013 - Torres Strait visit showcases vast photographic treasuresThe four-day access visit to Thursday Island last week was a huge success with over 450 visitors dropping in to view thousands of historical and contemporary photographs. In all, some 3000 requests for items were made. Importantly however generations of Torres Strait Islanders reconnected with images and recordings of island life and people - some never before seen. |
