Records include files relating to establishment of missions, annual reports from missions, register of inmates, general correspondence, accounts records, subsidies for and grants in aid for various missions, health and medical treatment of inmates, rations, education and training of inmates, punishments of inmates, deaths, inspections, admission files and personal details.
Due to the sensitive nature of records of the Department of Indigenous Affairs (DIA) access restrictions apply for files from 1909 onwards.
