
The AIATSIS Library’s role is to develop, maintain and preserve well-documented collections and to provide the best possible access to clients, both in person and remotely via the Internet.
The Library holds print materials in all formats. These include manuscript materials, serials, language materials, books, rare books, and the records of organisations, art catalogues, newspapers and newspaper clippings, maps, posters and kits, microforms and CD ROMS.
Films, videos, sound recordings and photographs are held in the Audiovisual Archive.
The Library is open to the public or study and reference on Mon, Wed, Thur and Fri between 09:00 am and 05:00 pm. If you wish to make an appointment to visit on Tuesdays, you should do so prior to this day by contacting the Library by phone or email.
The Library is closed on Australian Capital Territory public holidays and between Christmas and New Year.
