About the Exhibition

This online exhibition, which commemorates forty years since the Referendum, presents an overview of the history of the 1967 Referendum. It seeks to draw together sources of information on the 1967 Referendum so as to illustrate the many facets of its complex history.

Items featured in the online exhibition include items digitised from the AIATSIS collections, the National Archives of Australia (NAA), the National Library of Australia (NLA), National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) and items already online, particularly at the Reconciliation Australia, Macquarienet and National Museum of Australia 1967 Referendum websites. It also includes reading lists, with all items on the list being available at the AIATSIS Library.
