Hi All,

My name is Aaron Collins. Im still piecing it together as not much history is known about my grandfather, however his name was Edgar Collins. I believe his parents were Shedrick & Helen. Shedrick is the son of Sarah and William, to which Sarah is the daughter of Diana and James. This makes Diana my GGG Grandmother. As i said im still gathering info but this is what i have so far. My fathers name is John Collins, son of Edgar and Norma. Any info, photos of Diana or any of the mob would be much appreciated, as i have two little ones now and i want them to know their direct family.

Please email me if you need anything.

Hi All,Very excited to learn of my heritage, Diana was my GGG Grandmother. My grandfather was also a child of Harriet Emily Davis. Would love to learn anything I can and am particularly keen to hear from Carol Davis at comment 60 and any other descendents of Harriet as we have some confusion as to the possibility of her having children with 2 men with the surname Davis. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Hi Everyone, the old property that Phoebe and Charles lived on is where the current dam Lake Burrendong now lies! They walk out up and over the mountain to Mudgee in the late 1940's. Of the old homestead the water tank is the only thing left and an old car body. My uncle Mick and Pat took me there last year. They have been visiting the site for years with my cousins. As for a reunion, I will have a talk with the mob and see if we can do one this year at the dam. Stay tuned!

A strange thing. I am currently studying to be a primary school teacher and was using this website as a resource. After, getting totally interested in all the information I discovered my GG grandmother was the same Sarah Collins. I am the Great granddaughter of Harriet Collins.

If I hadn't been working on my university studies my mother, sisters and I would never have known about our Aboriginal heritage, as we were also kept in the dark.

I started working on my family connections with John Blackhall and his wife Elizabeth Reyner (married 1866). My mother was keen for me to pursue this line in her family tree (Daphne Lee nee: Blackhall) Marcia was a great help. Mum became ill and passed away last year and I am trying to pick up the thread again.

This is fabulous for helping all family members make contact and fill in missing gaps in our trees.
Photos are a blessing in disguise which along with stories of how our ancestors lived really bring our past into the present thereby making it all a little more real.
It is wonderful that there are so many who are willing to share what they have in the hope that someone may have something for them in return.
I have been in touch with many such people and look forward to the future. congratulations on such a wonderful site and I am very pleased that all the work Brian has put into his manuscript will benefit so many
.

Just loved this collection of information of Diana and the great photos of early Mudgee. My Great gradmother Catherine Gudgeon nee Mc Guiness married Eli Gudgeon and they had a selection on Kaludabah. My Grandmother Sarah, daughter of Eli and Catherine spoke of the neighbours, Rayners and Vitnals. Lovely to see a picture of Jane Vitnal. The selection paddocks are still known as the Rayner paddock etc. Thanks so much. Helen Shearman
