Below are the steps involved in having your manuscript published by ASP
Author prepared manuscript in line with contractual requirements and delivers to ASP. AASP may obtain a further assessor's report prior to officially accepting the manuscript for publication. In some circumstances the ASP Director may require the author to rework the manuscript so it meets agreed contractual standards.
Author's responsibilities
ASP confirms acceptance of the manuscript and discusses publication schedule. ASP Director remains the final decision-maker, but you will be working with our Production Manager/Graphic Designer in the creation of the book, as well as our Editorial and Publishing Assistants and Sales consultant, and possibly a freelance copy-editor.

Author's responsibilities
Author is required to:
The manuscript and cover are designed.
Author is required to:
First and second page proofs are produced. ASP and the author will check the pages. This is not a time for polishing the content; only changes that are vital to the publication can be made at this stage. ASP will check the second page proofs.
Author is required to:
An index will be produced by a freelancer for ASP a cost confirmed by the author who is contracted to pay, using key terms/concepts provided by the author.
Author is required to:
Final materials sent to the printer and ASP will check the text, illustrations and cover proofs.
Author may be asked to check proofs at this stage, but usually not.
Advance copies are received, followed by the complete print run. ASP will check the advance copies before sending the author’s copies or delivering the bulk stock to the distributor.
Author is not required to do anything at this stage, however they may be asked to provide promotional ideas, contacts, mailing lists etc. if they haven’t done so already.
Three months prior to advance copies being received, ASP’s distributor will send sales reps to bookshops across the country to ‘sell-in’ the book. ASP will send information to overseas distributors. ASP will finalise promotional plans.
Author is not usually involved in this except to provide as much relevant detailed information as possible to help support ASP’s promotional efforts.
Four weeks (approximately) after receipt of the bulk stock the book will be ‘released’ or officially published, an available across the country.
Author will be involved to differing degrees in ASP’s promotional program for the book.
